You need to have a clear vision for your business and an idea of your personal income goal and personal survival budget. How much time can you commit to your business and what sort of work-life balance do you want? We’ll create some top level company objectives, and turnover targets.
Pricing & profitability?
What are you going to sell, how much do your products cost to make, what price are they and how much profit do they make you? We’ll create a spreadsheet to calculate your profit margins and pricing. Here we’ll start to see how many products you’ll need to sell to hit your turnover target. We can examine the viability of wholesale sales and collaborations and how much time you should spend on these aspects of your business.
Financial review and planning
We’ll review your accounts so far this year and from previous years, and make a financial forecast and cashflow forecast for your business. Do you use accounting software like Xero, and would it be useful to start?
Sales & marketing strategy
Now you know where you want to be, we can start to work out how you’re going to get there. We need to understand what you are selling, what your business is and who you are selling to. We’ll map out your brand positioning, USP, and elevator pitch, alongside buyer profiles, competitor analysis, SWOT analysis, brand voice and style.
Sales & marketing planning
It’s time to brainstorm marketing tactics. What are the main channels you will use to reach your customers? Is it mostly via digital and social media? What visual assets will you need? When are the important sales periods? What events should you attend? Can you do any PR? We’ll create a sales and marketing schedule with key marketing tactics to deliver throughout the year.
